Travis County Court at Law grants discovery motion against Portfolio Recovery Associates

The Travis County Court at Law granted our discovery motion against Portfolio Recovery Associates, ordering them to answer all of our discovery, turn over all their documents, including their purchase agreement, overruling their objections, and awarding $2,818.75 in attorney fees to us.  Portfolio Recovery Associates has 15 days to comply.

They should have just dropped the case, but I’ve heard word on the street that the debt collectors are trying to get tough with me, fight me tooth and nail and so on, to make it infeasible for me to continue doing this work.  So far, it has backfired on them, costing them money that they have to pay to me, making them look bad in front of every judge, and ultimately creating bad legal precedent for them.  Their strategy is doomed to failure.  It can and will only lead to more sanctions against them.
